What birthed this piece was witnessing my own mother’s slumber after a tough day, a mirror to my own fatigue, how tiredness has a physical imprint. It pushed me to explore flowing, undefined shapes to capture the fluidity and the formlessness of exhaustion. Through “Sweat at Ease”, I invite viewers to confront their own tiredness and its lingering presence day after day.

The recurring motifs on the pillows suggest the mental, sensory, and tactile aspects of this shared human experience. And while all of us acknowledge our exhaustion, the work also explores the comfort found in embracing it and perhaps discovering a sense of ease within that state.
