Uniform is a symbol to represent a particular group of individuals. It brings people together and at the same time makes it easy to identify a certain section of group. What they assigned for and what they do? I tried to overshadow this identification by tracing lines around the body of my mother using various mediums on the same material like fabric. The work comes into action when she found respite from her exhaustive day. While outlining I realized that her fatigue wasn’t only hers but it reveals a broader narrative of labor, their working conditions, distribution of wages and hours, rest, and exhaustion. The lines intersection on the material are the multi-faced roles assigned by a working individual and how it shifts its responsibility among it. Each leaving its mark on the body– a documentation of one’s essence.

This is an attempt to mark those movements that a body had to go through. What kind of relationship did they build with those everyday places they encountered? In this video, the person is my mother. She has always been a working woman. To look closely, I tried to trace her body from the moment she left the house till she came back. I was curious to experience what she experiences in her daily routine. How many spaces do she encounter? What comes in between? How much time goes in traveling? How much time her body works before she got tired and lied on the bed sheet? These lines are an accumulation form of her physical presence with the struggle she had done in her life.
