As kids, we’ve all known pillow fights as a means of childhood amusement but the adult version in the form of my artwork titled “Pillow Fighting” delves deeper, representing a personal battle against sleeplessness. Birthed during the COVID pandemic, the artwork reflects on the challenges of staying indoors, especially the impact on physical activity and sleep. When our bodies lack proper physical exertion, falling asleep can become a struggle. The repetitive act of changing positions on the pillow, desperate to find sleep, is depicted as a subtle fight against the very object designed for comfort.
